If an applicant does not meet Algoma's English language requirements, they can also take AU’s English for Academic Purposes Program (EAPP) to meet the needs.
Successful completion of EAPP Level 4 or Level 5 satisfies the English language requirement, and students will earn 3 credits toward their academic studies.
ESL@Algoma – Explore. Study. Lead. ESL@Algoma was established in 2002. It is Languages Canada accredited and all courses are taught by qualified and experienced instructors.
The program is open to all non-native speakers of English who would like to improve their language skills and/or to prepare for academic study in Canada.

English for Academic Purposes Program (EAPP) – Online and In-Person Short-Term ESL Program (STEP)
English for Academic Purposes Program Details Earn credits upon completing EAPP! Students who complete EAPP Level 4 (Advanced Program) or EAPP Level 5 (Bridging Program) with an average of 80 per cent or above will earn three (3) transfer credits (HUMA 9101, first-year non-equivalent) toward their degree studies.
